Professor Helen Benedict is recognized as a top expert on sexual assault in the military. Her reporting inspired the award-winning documentary, The Invisible War, and a landmark lawsuit against the Pentagon on behalf of victims of military sexual assault.
She is the author of six novels and five nonfiction books, including Sand Queen and The Lonely Soldier. Her play, The Lonely Soldier Monologues, was shortlisted in 2015 for the Human Rights Arts Award.
